Attachments - Ability to download into a .Zip file (Product Idea)
In this release, we have added the ability for the users to download a bulk of attachments into a single .zip file. This feature will be handy when dealing with huge amounts of documents that are added against a single candidate or placement record. Users will be able to view a new button against the attachments tab to download all the available attachments into a single zipped file against the following entities:
- Candidates
- Companies
- Vacancies
- Applications
- Placements
Currently, when the attachments are downloaded into a single .zip file, each attachment will be displayed in a seperate folder to differentiate the ids. But in the coming weeks, we will be enhancing this feature to make it more user friendly by allowing the users to download all the files into a single folder.

Companies Search - Add Tags (New Bulk Action) (Product Idea)
We have added the ability for users to update the tags against company records in bulk from the companies search page. This new bulk action will only add a new tag(s) to a company record but will not remove any existing old tags against any company. Where a tag already exists, it will do nothing to that record. An activity log record will also be captured against the company record when the tag(s) are updated from the company page or through the bulk action.
This is restricted by a user role permission that has been included within the Roles and Permissions area from the admin's dashboard, allowing you to decide which user role should have the ability to update company statuses in bulk. By default this permission will be available only for the admin role.
This permission is labelled as:
- Can Add Bulk Tags on Companies

SMS - Character Counts & Conversion of Unicode to ASCII Chars (New Feature)
For the customers using the SMS services on Ready Recruit, our service provider (Message Media) allows both ASCII and Unicode characters while sending SMS's from the application. However, when Unicode characters are used while sending an SMS message, the per message character limit is roughly halved, leading to users sending more SMS messages than expected from Ready Recruit. In some cases, the user may only be using characters that can be represented in ASCII, but are encoded as Unicode due to copy/pasting from other software.
Hence, in this release we have made some enhancements to the SMS feature (SMS & SMS Templates) to display the character counts. This new feature will show "how many characters are left in the current SMS message, as well as how many messages this will require to send" to the users while sending outbound SMS messages from Ready Recruit.
SMS - Conversion of "Special Characters" to "Simple Characters" (New Feature)
Character counts will be significantly reduced while using special chars in a single SMS message. This will lead to more outbound SMS messages from the system which in turn will increase the billing amounts from your service provider.
Hence, starting from today, we have added another feature to our SMS functionality (SMS & SMS Templates) to allow the users to convert the Unicode characters (special chars) to ASCII characters (simple characters) while sending outbound SMS messages from Ready Recruit.
For example, when some special characters are entered in the SMS text box (Example: æû), users will be displayed with a message to convert these special chars into simple characters. Converting these special chars to simple chars will significantly reduce the numbers of messages that are going out (per SMS) from the system.
Support Button - New Location (Improvement)
As per the feedback received from most of the customers, where the existing support button was blocking some of the screens on the application, we have moved the Support button onto the top right hand side corner of the application. This new support tool provides access to the knowledge base articles, release notes and also the ability to lodge support tickets from within Ready Recruit.
