Posting a Job Ad from Ready Recruit to SEEK

Once your Ready Recruit system has been configured with the Seek Job Ad Posting API, users will have the ability to post new Job Ads to Seek from Vacancies within the JobReady system.

Most organisations will have a Vacancy Approval process in place, to ensure that the Job Description and Vacancy information is suitable for public use. To setup Vacancy Approvers, users must be allocated as an Approver against the relevant office within the system.

Once you are an Approver of a Vacancy, you will have the ability to update the Status from Pending to Approved (Note: at this point, the Vacancy will be public on Gateway).

Once a Vacancy has a status of Approved, the option to Post Job Ad will be displayed below the Vacancy Job Description.

Users will then be asked to fill out a Seek Job Ad form with most of the fields being similar to those listed on Seek.

  • Template – This will be a list of IDs loaded from your existing Seek Template IDs.
  • Advertisement Type – This will allow users to post a Job as either Classic or Standout to Seek (These values are loaded from Seek Code Tables).
  • Classification – This will be the specific Job Classification (Occupation or Category of work) (These values are loaded from Seek Code Tables).
  • Sub-Classification – This will be the Sub Classification for the Classification Selected above (These values are loaded from Seek Code Tables).
  • Location – This will be the Job Location or Region (These values are loaded from Seek Code Tables).
  • Area – This will be the area within the above Location (These values are loaded from Seek Code Tables).
  • Description – This will be the short description of the Job Ad that is displayed on the Seek Jobs Board and must be entered by the user posting the Job Ad.
  • Details – This will be the Job Description of the vacancy, and will populate based on the Job Description entered into the Vacancy record. This can be edited and modified to suit your needs for Seek. This will be the full page Job Ad that is visible on Seek.
  • Video URL – If you wish to post a video of the particular Job available, users have the option to post the YouTube link of the specified video (Note: This can only be a YouTube link as per Seek’s requirements)
  • Position – This will allow to select the position of the video on the Job Ad, whether it is Above or Below the Job Ad page.
  • Job Title – This is the Job Ad title that will be posted to Seek to identify the Job itself. This is prefilled from the vacancy created in Ready Recruit, but can be altered to suit needs on Seek.
  • Salary Type – This is the type of Salary that can be selected (Annual Commission, Annual Package, Commission only, Hourly Rate).
  • Min Rate – This is the minimum rate available for the above salary type.
  • Max Rate – This is the maximum rate available for the above salary type.
  • Work Type – This is the work type of the Vacancy (Full Time, Part Time, etc. This is not editable unless changed in the Vacancy)
  • Opening Date – This is the date that the Vacancy is open and available from (This is not editable unless changed in the Vacancy).
  • Closing Date – This is the date that the Vacancy is available until (This is not editable unless changed in the Vacancy).

If a user has selected the Advertisement Type as Standout, the user will have two additional options below:

  • Logo – This will be the Standout Logo available on the Job Ad (This will be a list of IDs loaded from your existing Seek Logo IDs.)
  • Bullets – This will allow users to enter up to 3 bullet points for the Job Ad that will be listed on the brief job description on the Seek job board (Once entered, users must hit enter to create another bullet point).

Once a user has completed all of the required fields on the Job Ad Posting page, simply click on the Post button to send this request to Seek.

Ready Recruit has applied validation to these fields, if there are any errors with the Job Ad, users will be notified and the Job Ad won’t be posted to Seek.

If the error returned is from the API instead of the Ready Recruit Validation, users will be notified and a full history of the Vacancy interaction with the API is stored in the Vacancy.

When a Job Ad has been successfully posted, users will have the option on the Vacancy to do the below:

  • Edit Job Ad
  • View Ad on Seek
